“The beginning is the most important part of the work.” –Plato
After we recently launched our new business initiative called Insight Training Solutions, we realized that we needed to share the process and journey with our community so they could learn from our successes and challenges along the way. Our ultimate goal is to help our medical practice clients implement impactful training to enable their employees to be their very best, and to improve the overall patient experience at their practice.
We’ve been working with medical practices since 2006. Below we’ll lay out the two main challenges they now face and how that impacted our decision to create this new training initiative.
1. Employee Turnover
The economy is strong, and as a result, the labor market is hot, to the point of overheating. The practices we work with have been dealing with persistent employee turnover for the last couple of years, with people jumping ship for a little as 50 cents an hour. That’s tough on any business.
And when you’ve invested time and energy to recruit, onboard, and train your employees, to watch them leave for $20 to $50 per week can feel like a smack in the face. We wanted to find a way to help our clients stop the bleeding and help them invest in training that develops professional careers and makes their employees feel cared for in a way they haven’t felt in the past.
2. The Patient Experience Now Plays Center Stage
Marketing medical practices has changed profoundly in the last ten years. We work on the front lines with medical practices every day (our office is actually located inside a large orthopedic practice). We’ve seen how practices struggle with mitigating one, two, three-star reviews and for dealing with things outside the doctor’s or management’s control.
In order to get to the root of the problem and help our clients address this issue, we created a five-part Patient Experience 2.0 training course available on-demand. We also designed a Communication Across Generations training that teaches people how to work with patients and coworkers of different generations.
Insight Training Solutions is a new journey for us, and we’re excited to see where the road leads. We want you to share in the process with us, to learn from our experience, and to give you tools that you can take back to your practice and begin implementing immediately. Stay tuned for more!
